Talley was a force in the fashion industry from his career at Vogue as the Creative Director and American Editor-at-Large between the 80s and 90s to his time as a stylist for the First Family during Barack Obama’s presidency.

André is also recognized in the fashion world as a judge on America’s Next Top Model for four seasons, along with Tyra Banks, creative director Jay Manuel and J. Alexander.
Part of Talley’s Legacy is left with two memoirs that he wrote, The Chiffon Trenches: A Memoir and A.L.T. A Memoir.
